YalqenYalqen runs on Chromium, so it can run Chrome extensions. Since version 0.2.6 you can install them straight from the Chrome Web Store, with no developer mode and no unpacked folders to manage.
Add an extension from the Chrome Web Store
- Open the store from the extensions menu in the toolbar, or go to chromewebstore.google.com in any tab.
- Open the page of the extension you want and use its Add button.
- Yalqen downloads it, checks it against the store’s signing key and installs it.
You can also paste a store link or an extension ID in Settings › Extensions.
Use and manage extensions
- Installed extensions appear in the extensions menu, and their popups open right below the button.
- Open an extension’s options page from Settings › Extensions.
- Switch extensions on and off, or remove them, in Settings › Extensions. Removing a store extension deletes its files too.
Load an unpacked extension
Building your own? Since version 0.1.1 you can load an extension from a folder in Settings › Extensions.
What to expect
- Extension support is not complete. Yalqen is built on Electron, which implements only part of the Chrome extension APIs, so some extensions may not work fully or at all.
- Extensions do not run in private tabs or in developer windows.
- Extensions can read and change the pages you visit. Only install ones you trust, and remove what you do not use.
- You may not need one: ad and tracker blocking, third-party cookie blocking, phone view and network tools, translation and a password manager are built in.
