YalqenThis page collects what is planned, what is only an idea and what is ruled out. Nothing here is a promise. What ships is decided in the open on GitHub, and requests from people who use Yalqen every day carry the most weight.
Planned
- Import from other browsers. Safari bookmarks first, then bookmarks and history from Chrome, Brave, Edge and Firefox.
- A native shell. A version built on CEF and AppKit, for real Liquid Glass materials, lower memory use and better battery life. Yalqen runs on Electron until then.
Ideas we are weighing
- Sync between devices. If it arrives it will be optional and end-to-end encrypted, so nothing readable leaves your Mac.
- Spaces and split view. Not built yet. Arc has both, and they come up when people compare the two browsers.
- More extension support. Chrome Web Store installs work today, but Electron implements only part of the Chrome extension APIs.
Not planned
- Intel Macs. Builds target Apple silicon only. Intel support depends on how the native shell performs.
- Telemetry or accounts. Yalqen has no telemetry and never asks for an account.
